Ambassador of European Union visits University of Petra

The president of the University of Petra, Dr. Marwan Muwalla, met with the European Union Ambassador, Dr. Joanna Wronecka in his office as part of a cooperation in the areas of culture, research, studies, exchange experiences and studies, programs, scholarships and fellowships and exchange visits and welcoming students to the Arabic language teaching and other levels.
 
During the meeting, the president of the University valued the Ambassador’s efforts with support of the European Union implemented projects in various scientific and humanitarian areas. Moreover, the reforms carried out by the EU in the sectors of education and human rights organizations, implementation of projects, youth employment, and relationship development with higher education institutions.
 
For her part, the EU Ambassador gave a lecture to the deans, administrators and students at the University. In the lecture, she demonstrated the role of the EU alongside Jordan in all issues and commended the scientific reputation of Jordan’s Higher Education under-reviewed by the emergence of the EU, a component of a regional organization of 28 countries linked by relationships of common economic and political business. She also submitted a briefing on the excellent relations of cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, educational and social fields between the EU and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
 
The Ambassador noted that the EU is currently implementing a project (Erasmus +) by which it acquires Jordanian university students on grants to complete their academic studies in various scientific disciplines for Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degrees in the EU countries, indicated in the conditions to be met by candidates for the mission.
