University of Petra has achieved a new milestone by advancing in the QS Arab University Rankings 2025, securing the 124th position among Arab universities, moving up several places from the 2024 ranking.
Professor Rami Abdel-Rahem, President of University of Petra, received the ranking certificate during his participation in the QS Arab Forum, hosted by Sultan Qaboos University in Oman. The event was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Professor Dr. Rahma Al-Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in Oman, and attended by prominent leaders of higher education and university ranking experts from across the region.
The QS Rankings, issued annually by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds, is among the most recognized global university ranking systems. It evaluates higher education institutions based on several criteria, including academic reputation, employer reputation, research quality, and academic impact.
It is noteworthy that University of Petra has earned a Five-Star rating in the QS evaluation and is also ranked globally within the 1201–1400 band. This achievement reflects the university's genuine and well-established academic and research practices and serves as a motivation to continue enhancing all performance indicators measured by the ranking system, with the goal of further advancing the university's academic and research excellence.
