The Faculty of Architecture and Design at University of Petra participated in the Arab International Plastics and Petrochemicals Expo. Engineer Lubna Al-Assaf, a faculty member in the Graphic Design Department, delivered a lecture on the latest trends in design and packaging.
Al-Assaf's presentation focused on innovations and creative potentials in packaging, and how graphic design students are being prepared to integrate into the packaging industry, highlighting its significance in both local and global markets.
Dr. Amer Al-Jokhadar, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at University of Petra, stated, "This event is an important opportunity to connect theoretical education with practical application." He added, "The participation of University of Petra enhances networking between students and industry professionals, fostering their academic and career development."
Students from the Graphic Design Department, supervised by Mr. Mohammad Khalaf, helped organize the event, aligning with the university's role in serving the local community. A booth was dedicated to showcasing the students' work, reflecting their skills and creativity in design and packaging, tailored to market demands.
The Arab International Plastics and Petrochemicals Expo was organized by the Jordan Chamber of Industry, in collaboration with the Chamber of Chemical Industries, the Plastics Industries Division, and the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council. The expo aimed to gather leading companies to explore opportunities in the MENA region markets, covering various sectors including plastics, rubber, petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizers, plastic recycling, printing, and packaging. The expo featured over 100 exhibitors from 20 countries, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, China, Palestine, Turkey, and the UAE.
