The UOP Department of Interior Design has hosted Dr. Nassar Mansour, Professor of Islamic Arts and Arabic Calligraphy at the World Islamic Sciences and Education University (WISE), to deliver a lecture entitled "Employing Arabic Calligraphy in Interior Architecture".
The Lecturer was introduced by UOP Interior Design Department Chair Dr. Naser Al Moghrabi and a set of FAD-UOP teaching staff members attended the lecture.
Prof. Mansour presented the artistic uses of the Arabic calligraphy in Traditional and Temporary Islamic Architecture, in terms of texts and materials used, significance of the Arabic calligraphy existence in the daily life through its various applications to multiple materials and uses.
Prof. Mansour indicated that there is a strong relationship between the aesthetic features of Arabic calligraphy and interior architecture, where modes and styles of Arabic calligraphy provides beautiful text and form at the same time.
