The Faculty of Law at the University of Petra, in cooperation with Community Policing from Public Security Directorate, organized an awareness lecture on drugs, which was moderated by Prof. Sail Al-Momani from the Faculty of Law and presented by Lieutenant Ammar Al-Rawajih from Public Security. It was part of the Legal Awareness Week which aims to raise students' awareness of contemporary legal issues.
Al-Rawajih talked about the negative effects of drug abuse and its danger to social safety. He stressed the importance of students' awareness of drugs and how to combat them to avoid their consequences on health, psychology, society and economy.
Dr. Ali Al-Dabbas, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Petra, welcomed the lecturer and thanked the Public Security Directorate for its cooperation with the university in combating the scourge of drugs and spreading awareness of its dangers. He highlighted the need for students to seize this opportunity and know the effects of dangerous drug abuse, and encourage them to combat it in universities and society in general. The students of the Faculty of Law designed an anti-drug mural, in which they wrote phrases calling for combating drugs at the university and the entire country.
It is noteworthy that this event is part of other events organized by the Faculty of Law during the Legal Awareness Week, which served the requirements of community service supervised by Dr. Rehan Abu Al-Zeit from the Faculty of Law at the University of Petra.
