The Department of Artistic, Cultural and Social Activities (DACSA) aims to provide opportunities for students to practise their hobbies and to develop and raise awareness among young people and develop their personalities in the University.
DACSA sponsors and supervises all activities providing adequate and appropriate atmosphere for these activities through planned programs for developing the sense of responsibility and belonging among students, expanding students’ experience in various areas and building their personalities.
DACSA's Duties:
  1. Guiding students to discover and improve their potentials and talents.
  2. Creating opportunities for students to participate in cultural events, artistic and social activities.
  3. Organizing various, festivals, events, seminars and lectures.
  4. Supporting talented students to develop their skills in the different fields, such as music, song, folk dance, theater, painting and ceramics.
  5. Establishment of artistic bands within UOP.
  6. Building balanced personalities of students and enhancing ethical values during workshops through holding public service workshops and training courses.
  7. Participation in the camps and national youth events for university students.
  8. Supervision of volunteer and social work through a committee of students (the system and the reception).
  9. Enabling students to exercise and improve their hobbies and encouraging them on distinction and innovation.
  10. Participation in the activities, cultural and artistic competitions with other universities.
  11. Organizing training courses and artistic competition in the areas of: Free drawing, improving handwriting, painting, wood burning, ceramics, playing musical instruments, folk dance, photography and Dabka principles.
  12. Participation in the activities of the local community.
  13. Organizing artistic exhibitions of students' works.
  14. Improving and developing the students talents at UOP theater.
  15. Supervising the audio devices on campus.
  16. Coordination of the Year Book.
Key Achievements:
  1. Organizing nineteen annual festivals commemoration of Independence Day.
  2. Organizing sixteen cultural exhibits on Jerusalem.
  3. Organizing the Eleventh UOP Exhibits for Arab Heritage and Folk Arts for Secondary Schools in Jordan.
  4. Winning multiple awards in theater, singing, playing musical instruments and painting competitions.
  5. Hosting various lectures in the areas of domestic violence, counter-narcotics, successful leadership and other artistic activities.
  6. Participating in many conferences, forums and workshops on Youth, Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Micro-Initiatives, including:
  • Fourth Arab Thought Fourth (Arab Economy and Empowering Future Youth).
  • National Day for Arab Young People Voice.
  • Arab Forum for Environment and Development (Food Security).  

     7. Particpating in the sessions of the businesswomen in the last three years and ranking first in pioneering projects that are launched and discussed in Spain at the Conference for Union for the Mediterranean (33 member states).
