Launch of Conference on Improving Legal Education for Deans of European Law Schools at UOP

Prof. Marwan Muwalla, President of University of Petra (UOP), emphasized that universities’ excellence is demonstrated in providing services that are beneficial not only to students but also to local community and approving scientific research that contribute in enriching the learning experience. Prof. Muwalla made a statement during the opening session of Conference on Improving Legal Education for Deans of European Law schools, which was hosted by UOP Faculty of Law.
Prof. Muwalla said that UOP is following royal visions for improving the performance of educational institutions in Jordan and welcomed the participants in the Conference from various schools of law in Europe and Jordan.
The UOP Law Faculty Dean, Prof. Mohamed Y. Olwan stressed the significance of major features of Jordanian legal system and duties of law schools in supporting those policies within the framework of general debate on globalization and privacy. The Dean of Cornell Law School made a statement on the role of Search Results International Association of Law Schools (IALS) in improving legal education.
The two-day conference was organized by IALS and hosted by UOP. The two-day conference witnessed the participation of deans of law faculties, legal experts and judges from Jordan, United Kingdom, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Russia, Netherlands, Spain, China and the United States of America (USA).
The conference aims to discuss the current situation of legal education worldwide, exchange of successful academic expertise and experiences and disseminate the best international practices in legal education.
