UOP FIT Team Wins TEJ Business Model Competition

The Information Technology Faculty team in the University of Petra (UOP FIT) won TEJ Business Model Competition.  By that, UOP FIT team outperformed six teams from Jordanian universities. As a result, UOP FIT team added a new achievement to UOP achievements, which will make it in the forefront of universities supporting creativity and entrepreneurship.
 
Professor Marwan Muwalla, the President of University of Petra, honored the wining team, consisting of: Mahmoud Al Karasali and Rami Qasem and under the supervision of Mr. Abdul Kareem Al Banna (Project Initiator) and Mr. Bashar Badran who supervised the "Business Model" of the project.
 
Professor Ghassan F. Issa, the Dean of Information Technology Faculty, said that creativity and transcendency are priorities for the Faculty and the Faculty’s priorities are in consistent with the university policy, that provides for establishing creative environment that supports students. Thereafter, students will be able to establish startups that create job opportunities for young people.  Prof. Issa thanked all teammates and asked them for more achievements.
 
The software developed by the team called "Al Razi Cloud" is a leading software at FIT,  which provides solutions for health sector. The software connects all health care centers and clinics in a unified database saving the patient data, including: diagnoses, laboratory and radial tests, details of treatments and prescribed medications.
The software also connects clinics and hospitals with pharmacies electronically. Thus, the patient can obtain the medication without prescription paper where the medication name is sent electronically from the doctor to the concerned pharmacies.
It is noteworthy that Al Razi Cloud Software is currently used in the UOP healthcare center, which resulted in improving services quality and dispensing with the documents related the files of students and workers.
