In today’s globalized world, internationalization has become one of the key issues addressed by Institutions of Higher Education worldwide. At the University of Petra, internationalization has been given due attention during the past two decades and currently reigns highly on the university’s agenda. Indeed, we believe that internationalization plays an instrumental role in the institution’s advancement and development in an ever-changing world characterized by its dependence on knowledge exchange and intercultural ties. To this end, international relations between the university and its regional and international counterparts have increased significantly in number and scope over the past few years to cover areas, such as staff and student exchange, research and education partnerships, internationalization of the curricula and the recruitment of international students. The university also aspires to establish double-degree programs with international universities to encourage research, and staff and student mobility in order to enhance the university’s internationally acclaimed reputation.
