Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at University of Petra was established in May 2012 to assist and incubate the innovative academic staff and students at the university who own innovative ideas capable to be developed to entrepreneurial projects. The aim of developing such projects is to provide products and / or services to create a competitive advantage in the local and regional industry. In addition, the center aims at improving the quality of students’ projects to serve the community as well as to develop the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the student. Also, the center supports the educational system for the student and contributes to the achievement of the overall objectives of education. The center relies on the academic and administrative staff who contribute directly or indirectly to the success of the vision of the faculty and the university, and serving the local community.

Vision

To become a local center of excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship capable of attracting innovative students and faculty members as entrepreneurial in scientific research.

Mission

To provide a supportive and dynamic innovative and entrepreneurial environment to unleash the talent of students, academic and administrative staff, researchers, and community members to motivate them to build innovative technology to serve the community.

Policy

The center provides the necessary support and incubation for the innovative and entrepreneurial projects of the academic staff and students and working on developing these projects by a professional staff in this field to serve the community, and to be successful in the industry.

Center Goals

The center aims at:

Promoting innovation, excellence and entrepreneurship among University’s Faculties and Centers with a strong emphasis on sustainable development goals.

Transforming entrepreneurial ideas to practical solutions to serve sustainable development.

Building the culture of entrepreneurship in students and researchers.

Bridging the relations between students and researchers, and other University institutions and research centers, through linking them in joint projects to arrive at innovative solutions.
