Cisco is one of the leader companies in networking and communicating field. It offers software and hardware multiple solutions in networking and security. Cisco Networking Academy is a global IT and Cybersecurity program that provides up-to-date resources, courses, and tools to improve learning experience to students, and support instructors with all required resources.

Cisco branch at the University of Petra was opened in 2021, under the umbrella of the Continuing Education and Community Service Centre. The aim of academy is to provide young people with knowledge and skills required in their career path, since the university believes in the importance of international professional certificates.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct specialized training courses approved by Cisco in the field of networks, information security, programming, computer maintenance and others.
2. Improve the study plans in the faculty of Information Technology by adding latest topics, and knowledge provided by Cisco.
3. Conduct training workshops for faculty members at the faculty of Information Technology in the fields of networks and information security.
4. Provide technical support and consultations to universities and other organizations in the field of networks and maintenance.

Training courses

The Academy offers courses in the following areas:

• Networking courses (e.g. CCNA, CCNP)

• Programming

• Cyber Security

• The Internet of things (IoT)

All trainers in the academy are Cisco certified, and fully qualified to provide technical support in the networking field.
