A Bridge Towards Knowledge

The Information Security Department seeks to develop the capabilities of students and lecturers by holding many partnerships with institutions, government sectors, and companies specialized in cybersecurity, such as JODDB, Cyber Crimes Unit, EC-council, Fortinet academy and CISCO academy.

1. Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB)

The Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) is a defence company. The Royal Decree established it on 24 August 1999 to provide an indigenous capability for supplying scientific and technical services to the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF). The JODDB Investment Group aims to establish new businesses in the Defense, security, and Automotive Industries, along with all services that would complement these industries. The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), through its Cyber Security Academy (KCSA), launched a specialized technical cyber security program. The Academy adopted a practical training methodology to teach staff from various sectors to secure and test information systems and networks and investigate and respond to cyber security attacks and incidents. The JODDB Cyber Security Academy will help Jordan protect its economy and security from cyber security threats.

2. Cyber Crimes Unit

The Cyber Crimes Unit is part of the Criminal Investigation Department in the Public Security Directorate in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which is under the authority of the Ministry of Interior. We are cooperating with the Cyber Crimes Unit to provide practical case studies within the courses, specialized courses on methods and devices used within the Cyber Crimes Unit, and scientific visits.

3. EC-council

The University of Petra joined the academic partnership program with the famous EC-Council, considered one of the largest institutions granting professional certificates in the field of cybersecurity on a global level. This step was taken to grant university students and faculty members the chance to obtain specialized professional certifications in cybersecurity.

4. Fortinet academy

The Academic Partner Program works with academic institutions to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive cybersecurity workforce. It bridges the gap between learning and careers through access to industry-recognized Fortinet NSE training and certification courses. The Academic Partner Program collaborates with the highest education institutions and schools worldwide to help learners become part of an elite group of skilled cybersecurity professionals.

The Fortinet Training Institute provides certification and training in the growing field of cybersecurity. The program includes a wide range of self-paced, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led training and practical, experiential exercises that demonstrate mastery of complex network security concepts.
