      :الملخص
      Purpose - The aim of this study is to explore the degree to which total quality management (TQM) practices were adopted at the Jordan Universities and the corresponding competitive advantage achieved. Design/methodology/approach - To achieve this purpose, we have suggested four primary hypothesis and eight secondary ones as an independent variables, and the competitive advantage as a dependent one. Data were gathered through a questioner of (62) figure distributed to nine (9) private and state universities scattered at the north, the mid and the southern part of Jordan. Stastical measures like mean, standard deviation, t test, correlation and regression analysis were used. Findings – The result reflect the followings: 1) The investigated Universities have adopted relatively the basic principle of TQM philosophy. 2) Data show a strong relationship between the TQM constructs and competitive advantage has been established. 3) Data also show a strong support for the influence of the quality of educational services on TQM implementation effectiveness on competitive advantage.
