University of Petra (UOP) President Prof. Rami Abdel-Rahem honored student Khaled Zakaria, a member of the Jordanian national football team, in celebration of his contribution to the team's qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
The ceremony took place at the president's office, in the presence of UOP Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Adnan Badran, alongside several deans and figures from the academic and sports communities.
Prof. Abdel-Rahem expressed pride in UOP students who represent Jordan on international stages, emphasizing the university's ongoing commitment to nurturing talent across disciplines. He affirmed that UOP will continue supporting students both inside and outside the classroom to help them realize their ambitions and serve the country with distinction.

He also extended his gratitude to the University of Petra, saying, "This recognition will leave a lasting, meaningful impression, and I will always be grateful for it."
