UOP Student Wins Short Story Award in National University Contest

University of Petra (UOP) student Clemence Wara' won the Short Story Award in the "Jordanian University Storyteller" competition recently organized by Al-Zaytoonah University.

Dean of Student Affairs at UOP, Prof. Eyad Mallah, honored Wara' and fellow student Leen Al-Qawadri, who received a certificate of participation. Mallah emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities in developing students' talents, skills, and experiences.

Dr. Amani Suleiman, from UOP's Department of Arabic Language and Literature, participated as a guest speaker and gave a talk on the art of the short story during the award ceremony.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Senator Haifa Najjar and was attended by representatives from 21 public and private universities.​

UOP female students have participated in previous editions of the competition and have consistently secured top positions.
