CAD Organizes Training Course for New Teaching Staff

The Center of Academic Development (CAD) of the University of Petra (UOP) has organized an introductory course for new teaching staff on UOP policies and regulations.
The 3-week training course has addressed the following topics: An introduction to UOP departments and centers, development of the study plans, Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs), methods and strategies of teaching, preparing the course file and methodology of measuring ILOs.
The training course has included an introduction to UOP departments and centers, including: Deanship of Student Affairs, Financial Department, Human Resources Department, Computer and Information Center, Modern Languages Center, Medical Center, Department of Public Services, Department of Public Safety, Library and Quality Assurance, Planning and Performance Management Unit.
The directors and managers of centers and departments have given an introduction to the functions of these departments and centers as well as the services they provide to teaching staff and students.
The training course has included a session on planning for academic programs in order to familiarize teaching staff with the procedures of developing study plans and evaluating ILOs. During the training course, the participating teaching staff have been trained on using UOP E-learning systems, such as: Camtasia, Blackboard and Moodle.
