Prof. Muwalla Patronizes Graduation Ceremony of Utah University Students

Professor Marwan Muwalla, president of University of Petra, sponsored the graduation ceremony of the students of University of Utah - International Cooperation Program in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Prof. Mohammad Anani, Director of Language Center Dr. Ula Al-Dabbagh, a number of teaching staff and program students.
Prof. Muwalla delivered the certificates to fourth batch of students who studied Arab Culture and Islamic history courses. "The University seeks to operationalize academic cooperation agreements with the global universities, in a way that benefits UOP students and students of cooperating universities through student exchange and academic exchange programs," Prof. Muwalla said. "Student exchange benefits the students scientifically and enriches their cultural knowledge through recognizing the culture of the country where he is studying. Similarly, students sent abroad reflect their culture and followed customs at their countries," he added.
The program was launched in 2012 with a view to teaching Arabic Language for Non-native Speakers and introducing Jordan history and Arab culture to the students by organizing trips to a set of archaeological, historical and holy sites that contributed in forming Jordanian culture and making Arab and Islamic Identity for the region," Dr. Ula Al-Dabbagh, Director of Language Center pointed out.
Dr. Abdulkafi Albirini, UU Liaison Officer, thanked UOP President and Language Center Director for their efforts to ensure the program success. He said that "the program achieved many of its goals in presenting a clear image on Islamic and Arab culture through Jordan culture as a model for the cultures of many Arab and Islamic Middle Eastern countries".
During its visit to UOP, Utah University Delegation met Higher Counsellor of the University of Petra (UOP) Dr. Adnan Badran and member of the Board of Trustees Eng. Awni Shaker.
