Professor Amin Abdullah Mahmoud is an MA and PhD holder in Modern History from Georgetown University, Washington, DC (1972) and BA in History, Ain Shams University (1962).
He has 50 publications, including research papers. He was General Secretary of the League of Arab Private Universities, Member of the Association of Arab Historians, Member of the Society of International Affairs, Member of the National Society for Social Defense, Member of the American Historical Society, And Senator (2015).
Dr Mahmoud was Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
(2013-2015), Minister of Culture (2005), President of the University of Petra (2003-2005), President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University (1995-2002), President of Al-Zaytoonah University (1994-1995), President of Jordan University for Women (1991-1993), Director of Hebrew Studies, Yarmouk University (1984-1986), Professor, Kuwait University (1986-1990), and Professor, University of Jordan (1980-1982).
