The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Petra University has an outstanding reputation as a provider of high quality undergraduate education. It is also known for excellence in the quality of its teaching and research and is consistently ranked in the top of private Universities in the Jordan. Consequently, the Faculty of Pharmacy was accredited to extent its aims and mission to design a master program in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The aim and the objectives of the master program courses were designed for pharmacist to contemplate a career in a specific pharmaceutical field or to those who are currently employed in the pharmaceutical industry (research & development), research institutes and pharmacy hospitals. The program also prepares graduates for entry into research programs in appropriate areas of the pharmaceutical sciences. The curricula (courses and research) are delivered by well-qualified, professional staff. The extensive research experience of the academic staff will be shared with the student so as to provide a useful insight into research in the field of pharmaceutical industry or clinical pharmacy. Acceptance Criteria:
A B.Sc in Pharmacy from an accredited university and with a minimum accumulative average of C or 70% is required. In addition, evidence of English language proficiency is required for graduation (6.0 or higher for IELTS, 500 or higher for TOEFL, or computer based TOFEL of 230 or higher).
Duration:
The full time program takes 18 months not including the research project. The program starts in October or February with the formal taught modules evenly divided between three Semesters. Students, however, can register for an eight week summer course for research, training or graduation purposes.
Course Structure:
The MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences comprises of compulsory and elective taught modules with a research project involving a laboratory-based research project (or a critical review of the literature).
