Heads of Private Universities meet in Petra

Whole heads of private universities in Jordan on the need to apply the criteria for accreditation of public and private , quality assurance , on the Jordanian universities all without discrimination , in accordance with the law of the accreditation body for institutions of higher education for the year 2007 , as amended, and in accordance with the Jordanian Constitution, the rule of law to everyone, and stable to higher education policies , especially in relation to the minimum limits for acceptance rates currently in force .
 
 
This came during a meeting held at the University of Petra on Monday under the chairmanship of President of the University Aldkor Adnan Badran within the regular meeting of the heads of private universities in Jordan , and the whole audience on the need to stop the establishment of private universities new due to the saturation of the market , the focus at this stage to enable the existing universities and consolidate the quality and development and improving outcomes , and an emphasis on raising the minimum for admission to schools of medicine , dentistry , from 85 % to 90% due to the high rates over the past years for these colleges , to reduce the exceptions below the rate of 90%.
He briefed the audience within the discussions of the quality of higher education in Jordanian universities on some official statistics about the students admitted , including that the number of public universities in Jordan ( 10) universities in the number of students in it ( 204.007 ) students , based on their teaching ( 6,640 ) faculty member , while the number of private universities ( 18 ) University , the number of students up to ( 80 125 students) , based on their teaching ( 3,016 ) faculty member .
