Four UOP Students Win Majority of Jordanian Universities Interior Design Competition Awards

Four students from the University of Petra (UOP) have won the majority of Jordanian Universities Interior Design Competition Awards, which was organized by IKEA and Jordan Interior Design Association (JIDA).
The committee of judges has announced the results in an honoring ceremony that was organized at IKEA exhibitions in the presence of deans of design faculties, chairs of interior design departments from Jordanian universities, interior design specialists and families of participating students.
Four UOP students have won three top places. Students, Rama Al-Masri and Sema Karadesheh have won the third place jointly, student Lena Nassar has won the fourth place and student Dareen Abu Ajameiah has won the fifth place.
19 students have competed in the competition. These students study at University of Petra (UOP), German-Jordanian University (GJU), University of Jordan, Private Amman University, Middle East University and American University of Madaba.
The competition theme was rehabilitation of 60-year old house in Al-Weibdeh Mount and development of designs to convert it to a restaurant or a coffee shop. The house rehabilitation is going to be implemented according to heritage preservation regulations.  The participating students have delivered their works in late June 2017. These works have been evaluated by a specialized committee of judges, consisting of members who have been chosen according to pre-defined standards.
