HRH Princess Rahma Bint El Hassan has patronized a visual presentation by the students of Architecture Department of the University of Petra (UOP) at Al-Hussein Cultural Center that is affiliated to Greater Amman Municipality (GAM).
The students’ projects aim to highlight urban problems and their solutions, ways for development of the urban environment and ways for increasing the green areas in Amman through provision of designs for GAM's public gardens as well as other sites.
Dr. Yousef Shawarbeh, Mayor of Amman, has commended the efforts taken by “Green Amman 2020” Committee to increase the green areas and UOP students’ efforts to provide innovative solutions and architectural ideas that would expand the green areas.
Eng. Emad Dabbas, the General Coordinator of “Green Amman 2020” Committee, said that projects proposed by UOP students would expand the green areas in Jordan, such as: Rehabilitating King Abdullah I Garden in Wadi Saqra Street and rehabilitating several streets in Jabal Amman, including: Rainbow Street, Kherfan Street and Mouath Ben Jabal Street and rehabilitating the area adjacent to the intersection of Amman Development Corridor and planting trees in the area adjacent to UOP to improve the appearance of the gate of the city of Amman.
At the end of the visual presentation, Amman's Mayor presented appreciation letters to UOP and “Green Amman 2020” Committee to their efforts to expand Amman's green areas.
