The Language Center offers a two-week culture
based program that is mainly comprised of a number of trips and excursions to
historically and culturally significant sites in Jordan. This program serves
the needs and interests of a wider range of students who do not have previous
knowledge of Arabic and who seek first-hand cultural exposure to the Arab and
Jordanian culture without enrolling in the Arabic for Speakers of Other
Languages Program (ASOL).
This program can be easily tailored according
to the needs of the institutions in terms of starting dates, duration, places
to visit, activities, etc. This includes the possibility of adding cultural
presentations on topics of interest to the students besides the scheduled
cultural trips and excursions.
For both the ASOL and the Culture programs,
students are given the chance to meet UOP students and spend time with them as
culture partners.
