The University of Petra (UOP) Club launched twenty-second winter campaign under the auspices of UOP President Prof. Marwan Muwalla. The campaign aimed at delivering winter blankets and clothes to fifteen charitable societies and orphanages.
Prof. Muwalla said that social solidarity strengthens the relationships between the individuals and society organizations and helps in resolving some challenges confronting the society.
“UOP is committed to implement social responsibility and community service strategy with the aim of confronting some challenges encountered by the society,” Prof. Muwalla said during delivering in-kind assistance to the charitable societies’ leaders.
Dr. Ahmad Al-Khateeb, UOP Club President, clarified that UOP Club Winter Campaign collects donations from UOP teaching staff and administrative staff. “The campaign aims to support charitable societies based in Amman and other governorates of the kingdom annually as an essential part of its social activities,” Dr. Al-Khateeb added.
It is noteworthy that UOP Club's members include UOP teaching and administrative staff. Since its establishment in 1997, UOP Club annually launches a winter campaign in the winter and a charitable campaign in the month of Ramadan.
