The Library of the University of Petra (UOP) organized a book-reusing fair of the first semester of the University Year 2017/2018. The fair presented 850 books and textbooks, 350 textbooks in all majors along with 500 student compiled textbooks for different university courses.
This fair aims to promote volunteerism, sense of initiative, cooperation and maintaining books and complied textbooks among UOP students, UOP Library Director Ms. Afaf Abdelrahman said, adding that UOP students borrowed 150 books in the first day of the fair.
The nine-day fair continues until the end of October at UOP Library first floor. 582 students benefited from 2016 book-reusing fair, Ms. Abdelrahman said, adding that UOP students positively responded to the fair and shared their books and complied textbooks with other students.
“The fair allows UOP students to quickly flip through the pages of available books and complied textbooks and borrow them at no fee, provided that they must return them to be re-shared with other students,” Ms. Abdelrahman made clear.
Library Friends Committee supervised this fair in cooperation with the section of periodicals and books borrowing.
