Under the Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Petra (UOP) and University of Porto, the Department of Modern Languages hosted two lectures by Dr. José De Almeida, Professor of Francophone Literature in the University of Porto. Dr. De Almeida visited UOP under EU program for education, training, youth and sport (Erasmus+) and his visit lasted for five days. He admired UOP facilities and buildings that contributes in improving students’ academic level.
Dr. De Almeida delivered two lectures that were well-attended by French language students and modern languages department professors. Both lectures revolved around the impact of French language on other countries and evolution of Francophone Literature.
It was agreed to continue cooperation between two universities in general and departments of French Language in particular. It was also agreed to increase student and academic exchange between the two universities.
