Chemistry students of the University of Petra (UOP) has organized an awareness-raising campaign against indiscriminate disposal of wastes in public places, forest areas, nature reserves and parks at King of Bahrain Kingdom Forest (Ghamadan). The main objectives of the campaign were to reinforce positive behavior towards environment and instill the concept of environment preservation among the visitors of the public areas and parks.
The campaign has been organized on the margins of the environmental ceremony that has been organized by Royal Department for Environmental Protection (RANGERS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment. It should be noted that UOP Chemistry Department organizes community service activities on a regular basis.
The ceremony has consisted of a welcoming statement, musical scores by PSD Band and distribution of wastes bags to ceremony attendees and area visitors.
