Arabic Department Organizes Scientific Day on “Problems of Teaching Arabic in Education Institutions”

The Department of Arabic will organize a scientific day on “Problems of Teaching Arabic in Educational Institutions” on Thursday, 25 March 2018 under the patronage of UOP President Prof. Marwan Muwalla.
Dr. Atef Kanaan, Arabic Department Chair, clarified that the scientific day consists of two sessions. The first session is about Promotion of Arabic. In the first session, Dr. Razan Ibrahim from UOP will deliver a lecture entitled: “Visions and Aspirations for Promotion of the Arabic in the Education institutions” and the success story of “Adam & Mishmish” program in teaching Arab attractively will be reviewed.
“The second session addresses the problems experienced with teaching Arabic. It includes a lecture by Dr. Nasser Shabneh from the Hashemite University on "Integrating Literary Texts in the Curricula" and a lecture by Dr. Rashid Essa from Al- Balqa' Applied University (BAU) on “Standards of Tasting Literary Texts,” Dr. Kanaan added.
Dr. Nabil Hasanin and Dr. Haroun Rababa’ will moderate both sessions. Dr. Kanaan said that the Department of Arabic organizes this day annually and hosts elite of Arabic language experts and scholars.
The scientific day's preparatory committee consists of: Dr. Atef Kanaan (Committee Chair), HE Dr. Lana Mamkegh, Dr. Razan Ibrahim, Dr. Nabil Hasanin, Dr. Amani Suleiman, Manager of Public and International Department Mr. Alaa Eddine Arabiat.
