Yiannis Kallias, General Manager of TUV AUSTRIA HELLAS, delivered Quality Management Certificate ISO 2015:9001 to UOP President Prof. Marwan Muwalla in a special ceremony organized at UOP Campus.
Prof. Muwalla said that obtaining this certificate is a culmination of UOP efforts in quality management and quality assurance.
TUV AUSTRIA HELLAS General Manager Yiannis Kallias commended the high quality of education and administrative procedures at the University of Petra (UOP), emphasizing TUV AUSTRIA HELLAS’s readiness to cooperate with UOP in the future.
UOP obtained ISO Certificate in 2011 for the first time, QAPPMU Director Dr. Ahmad EL-Qasem said, adding that the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) at Geneva reviews and updates its standards every five years in order to ensure continued alignment between its standards and latest developments in administrative work and risks management.
Dr. Al-Qasem said that UOP ensures full compliance with the highest international standards on management system and customer service, noting that the new version of ISO included a number of amendments to the general framework of specifications, rights-based thinking, improving the effectiveness of top management and the flexibility of documentation process.
Dr. Al-Qasem noted that the new version of ISO requires identification of the organization context, identification of risks, and formulation of plans to achieve organization's objectives. Dr. Al-Qasem clarified that meeting these requirements positively impacts organization's performance and services, thereby and improving UOP educational process outcomes.
