Prof. Muwalla Opens Enlightening Week for Newly Admitted Students

Prof. Marwan Muwalla, UOP President, met the newly admitted students in the first semester of the University Year 2017/2018 as part of the enlightening week for the newly admitted students at UOP Theater.
UOP is not only a place for receiving knowledge and acquiring skills. It also builds the personality of students who belong to different cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds, Prof. Muwalla said, adding that UOP students communicate with each other and enrich their knowledge, skills and experience thanks to UOP modern environment.
"UOP is keen to achieve excellence in infrastructure, human resources and quality education. We aspire that UOP students actively participate in the cultural and urban development at local and regional levels,” Prof. Muwalla added.
“All student must enjoy university life through taking part in general lectures, cultural activities, conferences, workshops, community service activities, scientific visits and welfare trips,” Prof. Muwalla added.
Dr. Ghazi Abu-Zeitoon, Dean of Student Affairs, emphasized that the Deanship of Student Affairs has harnessed all its material and human resources to serve students and improve their talents, knowledge and skills.
“Do not hesitate to visit the deanship, benefit from its programs and services and attend free workshops and training courses on technical, administrative and life topics according to your interests and preferences,” Dr. Abu-Zeitoon said.
UOP provides grants for distinguished students in sports and arts, Dr. Abu-Zeitoon said, calling qualified students who are excellent in arts or sports to visit the deanship and benefit from these grants.
A number of deans of faculties, chairs of department and directors of units attended the meeting. UOP president as well as deans of faculties responded to students queries on relevant topics, stressing UOP's eagerness to resolve all problems that may face new students.
