Visit of Professor Peter Bowal Calgary University of Canada to Faculty of Law/Petra University

The Faculty of Law was delighted to welcome Professor Peter Bowal, Professor of Law in the Business and Environment area. During the visit, which took place between March 3–6, Professor Bowal has lectured, in cooperation with Dr. Kamal Alawamleh, law students in business and employment law.

 

Prof. Bowal visit has been hosted by the Dean of Law Faculty Prof. Mohamed Olwan and the faculty members, different issues of collaboration between our two institutes have been discussed thoroughly. At the end of the visit, Prof. Mohamed Olwan has presented our University’s shield of appreciation and honor to Prof. Bowal.

 

It is worth to mention that Prof. Bowal holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, and a Master of Laws in Comparative Law and Legal Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. In 1983 he underwent Articles of Clerkship with the Alberta Court of Appeal and was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta the same year. Following several years of law practice and teaching, he started at the University of Calgary in 1991. He earned tenure in 1995 and was promoted to Full Professor of Law in 1998 in the Haskayne School of Business. His research and teaching led to a Killam Fellowship in 1999.
