English Department The Department of English is a dynamic and growing department. It enrolls more than 480 undergraduate English majors and about 26 students enrolled in the MA graduate degree Translation program .The Department offers three study programs ; two undergraduate study programs and one graduate program. Students majoring in English Language & literature complete a core of courses that develop abilities in critical reading and writing and knowledge of some of the foundational works of British and American literature: C19thLiterature, C20th literature Renaissance Drama, Literary Criticism. Students who opt for the Translation Concentration gain skills for communicating and translating effectively, The emphasis is on reading, writing, and speaking, , is evident throughout the r curriculum Two well-equipped language laboratories provide opportunities for students to strengthen their spoken and conversational ability The curriculum in English offers excellent preparation for students who seek careers in business, government, , advertising, journalism, banking, and teaching.
