Pharmaceutical Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacognosy
The department of medicinal chemistry and pharmacognosy through its academic programs introduces the students to various structural requirements for various drugs used in disease management with the emphasis on the structural-activity relationships and the essential chromophore for that particular activity. In regards to natural products, emphasis is placed on the active component of plants, their chemistry, uses and methods of characterization, and the role of natural products in generation of drugs that are currently in the market.
Pharmacology and Biomedical Sciences
The department of pharmacology and biomedical sciences seeks to integrate both basic and applied pharmaceutical and medical sciences into its academic programmes in order to provide students with the information necessary to be competent and successful in the increasingly challenging field of pharmacy.

Nutrition
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at the Petra University, Amman-Jordan was established in 1991. The Faculty offers three programs: B.Sc. in Pharmacy and Nutrition, and M.S. Pharmaceutical Sciences. The B.Sc. in Nutrition consists of 4-year program (135 credit hours).
